There is some good news coming out of Washington today:
The Senate on Thursday overwhelmingly approved an amendment banning reinstatement of the so-called "Fairness Doctrine" that would threaten conservative talk radio.
Republican Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina attached the amendment, called the Broadcaster Freedom Act, to a bill giving the District of Columbia a voting representative in the House. It passed by a wide margin of 87-to-11.
But it's not clear if the amendment will survive as Congress debates the voting rights bill.
Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois also won approval for an alternate amendment ordering the Federal Communications Commission to encourage radio ownership "diversity." It passed by a vote of 57 to 41.
Wow. Freedom of speech, what a radical concept. Go get 'em, Rush!

If Americans wanted to hear the crap spewed by left wing radio they wouldn't need a fairness doctrine.
You'd think the lefties would have figured that out by now.
Personally, I use my radio for music and music only.
A little ac/dc never hurt anyone that I'm aware of.
And of course being southern, I lean toward southern groups like Skynyrd, Allman, and my personal favorites and hometown boys, Marshall Tucker

anyone who mentions AC/DC and Skynyrd in the same paragraph can't be all bad...

I'm actually only half bad!LOL
I like the southern rockers, altho the Skynyrds claimed they weren't southern rockers, for some reason.
One of my ex-sons in law was in the Tucker band for 20 years.
If you saw them on Fox and Friends, he was the one sitting on Doug Gray's right. Doug is the band's owner now that both Caldwell brothers are dead. His name is Stuart Swanlund an Air Force brat, whose father flew B-36s and retired as a Major.
