Determined to find someone, anyone, to surrender to, President Obama seems to be setting his sights on the "moderate" Taliban. I guess the "moderate" Taliban only wanted to kill 1,000 Americans, rather then the 3,000 lost on 9-11.
But, wonder of wonders, experts are skeptical:
"Obama's comment resemble a dream more than reality," said Waheed Mozhdah, an analyst who has written a book on the Taliban.
"Where are the so-called moderate Tal iban? Who are the moderate Taliban?" asked Mozhdah, who was an official in both the Taliban and the Karzai governments.
Karzai's pro-Western administration and the growing number of foreign forces in Afghanistan have increasingly come under attack from a resurgent Taliban, with Obama now describing Afghanistan as a top foreign policy priority for his new administration.
"'Moderate Taliban' is like 'moderate killer'. Is there such a thing?", asked writer and analyst Qaseem Akhgar.
Ah the military tactics of political appeasement and negotiating from a position of weakness, long since mastered by the DemocRats.
With these people in power, how can we possibly hope to win? Since they lack the political courage to continue this fight - and clearly aren't going to do any of the fighting themselves - it's time to get out of there and spare our forces any more losses. I think it would be a huge mistake, but watching the socialists Liberals do everything possible to undermine our troops and their mission makes me sick. They refuse to do what is necessary to win, therefore there it is pointless to continue the engagement.
So much for the axiom when you've got them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow. Look for the DemocRats to continue their policies of appeasement and surrender with Cuba, Iran and Mexico in the months ahead.
