On November 10, 1775, the Continental Marines were born.
234 years later, they have evolved into one of the finest fighting forces on the face of the Earth. They aren't Army Paratroopers, mind you, but they sure try hard! Their contribution to our freedom can never be fully measured.
So happy birthday, Marines. Thank God for you. And thank you for your service to our great nation.

My late father was a jarhead in the late '20s and got discharged in 1931.
His younger brother did about 28 years in the Marines. My late brother in law was a 21 year Marine. So I've been pretty much surrounded by Marines my whole life!
But I still wish them a well earned happy birthday.
